But not since he went mainstream, he's tamed all that down since W&G and hasn't produced a feature film showing dick since. THIS is about as risque as he's gone recently.

He's really quite a dichotomy of a human being.
He seems to be very into sexual openness (a LOT of people say he has a history as a sex worker - NO judgment, good for him - and that he has turned back to doing it during the pandemic situation.) He begged people to give him donations to pay his rent at the start of the pandemic, got the funds and then deleted all the posts from his twitter relating to it. IT also seems that he has moved out of that apartment (couldn't afford it anymore?) and into somewhere else.
At the same time he desperately wants to be a mainstream success, even hoping (futilely because his performance was garbage) to get an Emmy nomination for his role on "Will & Grace". He re-cut his movie with the erect dick footage to not have that content when he licensed it to Amazon, and if anybody posts those pictures on his Twitter wall he messages them asking to please take them down.
But then he constantly posts footage of himself dancing in underwear or pics like the one above with super visible VPL.
Like, I do want him to be happy and just be himself, but it seems like he is really torn about who he wants to be and it makes me kinda sad for him.

Yeah I can definitely see at least some of this, some of his previous projects were a bit problematic too in trying to push "sexual openness is okay" to such a degree consent was left out of the picture; I remember one scene where one of the men is saying he doesn't want to undress or have sex and a third party is there and the other character just forces him to strip and pulls his pants down so he can show the other person the guys ass or something along those lines - he definitely has some kind of baggage or hang up about expressing sexuality and his image.
