Dr. Azula isn't known for being the most pleasant woman to be around. A sense of intellectual superiority that stems from her deep-seated misanthropy tends to drive away all but the most patient people she meets.
By this point, her ego is so fragile that she refuses to tolerate anyone questioning her methods or beliefs. In her opinion, she did not work this hard, suffer this much, and publish so much, just to have "imbeciles" second guess her.

Really intriguing personality and focus. Quite a bit of sass, but now I'm curious... what if she meets someone that, even by her standards, is her intellectual rival, and they sit down and talk with her and tell her something, on her own terms, that disproves one of the theories she's so proud of?
More than likely, she would become extremely jealous and petty towards them. The good ending would be an enemies-to-lovers story, but Azula is especially sensitive to criticism and likens it to the trauma she experienced from her family. If the other person wanted to broach the subject in a way that didn't upset her, it would require them to approach it very delicately. The most optimal way would likely involve leading questions that would allow Azula to have to admit her own flaws rather than for the other person to try and shove them in her face.
However, all of this would be made easier if the other person had an extra touch of patience to gain her trust first.
