About Me
The ancient Greek philosopher, Socrates, was a great teacher. He believed that his students already had all the knowledge they needed, but in order for them to 'remember' it, he'd have to ask the right questions. He is known for coming up with idea of Geek humanism; the idea that humans are in control of their lives, and are good by nature. This meant too things. 1) That the Gods did not command one's fate, 2) because humans are good by nature, they can make good decisions, and that DEMOCRACY could be successful in their society. This ruffled some feathers because the old farts at the top of society didn't like his ideas for some reason or anther so he was put on trial, and found guilty for "CoRRuPtInG tHe nAtiONs YouTh" and he was sentenced to death. However, people still liked him. He was a great teacher no matter what. So they left his jail door unlocked the night before he was to be executed because they wanted him to escape. He didn't because he would rather die, than "abandon" his ideas.
